How PairLume Verifies Coaches and Wellness Professionals

The full review process behind every profile on PairLume: application, identity, credentials, licence checks where a licence exists, and what gets a professional removed.

Nobody appears on PairLume by filling in a name and a photo. Every professional goes through the same review before their profile can take a single booking.

Step 1: Application

The professional applies through our [application form](/apply wellness professional). We ask for legal name, contact details, country and region of practice, training history, years of experience, focus areas, languages, and how they describe their approach in their own words. Incomplete applications are not reviewed.

Step 2: Identity

We confirm the applicant is who they say they are using government issued identification, and we check that the name on the identification matches the name on the credentials and on the payout account. Profile photos have to be of the actual person. Stock images are rejected.

Step 3: Credentials

We ask for the documents behind every claim in the application: degrees, certificates, training programmes, and supervision hours where relevant. Every claim that appears on the public profile has to be supported by something we have seen. If a certificate cannot be produced, the claim comes off the profile before it goes live.

Step 4: Licence review, where a licence exists

Where the applicant says they are licensed, we ask for the licence number, the issuing body, and the jurisdiction, and we check that the licence is current and in good standing with that body's public register. If a register is not publicly searchable, we ask for direct documentation from the issuing body. A licence that has lapsed, been restricted, or been suspended means the professional is not listed as licensed.

Not every good practitioner is licensed. Relationship coaching is unlicensed in many countries. Those professionals can still be listed, but they are listed accurately, and what that difference means for you is written out in [licensed and non licensed](/how we verify/licensed and unlicensed).

Step 5: Profile and conduct review

Before a profile goes live, our team reads the copy line by line for claims we cannot support: promises of outcomes, clinical language on a non clinical profile, and anything that reads as a guarantee. The professional agrees to our conduct standards, which cover scope of practice, boundaries, confidentiality, cancellation behaviour, and taking clients off platform.

What the verified tick means

The tick is reserved for licensed clinicians. It appears on a profile only when two things are true: the person cleared every check above, and we confirmed a current therapy licence with the body that issued it. So a tick tells you the person is real, the credentials are real, the profile copy is honest, and a regulator stands behind a defined clinical scope of practice with a complaints route outside PairLume.

A profile without a tick is not an unchecked profile. Coaches and other non licensed professionals go through the same identity, credential and copy review, they simply do not hold a licence for us to confirm, so we do not imply one. The tick does not mean we supervise sessions, endorse a method, or guarantee a result.

Ongoing checks and removal

Verification is not permanent. We re review profiles when a licence expiry date passes, when a professional edits a credential claim, and when we receive a report. Repeated late cancellations, pressure to move payment off platform, boundary complaints, or a lapsed licence presented as current all lead to suspension, and in serious cases permanent removal and a refund to affected clients.

If something feels wrong

Tell us. Every booking has a dispute path, and every profile can be reported from the page itself. Reports go to a human on our team, not to the professional you reported.
