PairLume Wallet and Credits: Top Ups, Holds and Refunds
How the PairLume wallet works, how to top up, what happens to your balance when you book, how refunds return, and what happens to unused credit.
The wallet is a prepaid balance on your account. It exists so that booking a session is one tap instead of a card form, and so refunds can land instantly instead of waiting on a bank.
Topping up
Open your wallet from your account and choose a top up amount. Payment is handled by our payment provider, and on the iOS app purchases go through Apple's in app purchase system as the App Store requires. We never see or store your full card number.
Your balance appears immediately once the payment clears.
Spending it
When you book, the cost is taken from your wallet balance. If the balance does not cover it, you pay the difference on a card at checkout, or top up first. Courses, books and gifted sessions can also be paid from the wallet.
Holds
A confirmed booking reserves the amount for that session. Reserved funds are shown separately from your spendable balance so a booking you already paid for cannot be spent twice. Once the session completes, the reservation is released to the professional.
Refunds
A refund returns to your wallet by default, because that is the fastest route and there is no bank delay. Where a refund needs to return to the original card, our team processes that instead, and card refunds take as long as your bank takes, usually a few working days.
Does credit expire?
No. Your balance stays on your account. If you close your account with a balance, contact us and we will handle it rather than keeping the money.
Currency and pricing
Prices are shown in the currency the professional set, and your payment provider handles conversion at their rate. What you see at checkout is what is charged.
Receipts
Every top up and every spend is listed in your wallet history with a date, an amount and what it was for. If you need a receipt for a specific transaction, it is downloadable from that entry.
If something looks wrong
Amounts on PairLume are stored in the smallest currency unit, and a mismatch between what you expected and what you see is worth reporting rather than shrugging off. Contact us with the transaction date and we will trace it. Anything charged in error goes back.
