The documents, checks and timelines behind a PairLume listing, what the verified tick means for licensed clinicians, and the most common reasons an application stalls.

If you are considering applying, this is the review you will go through, written from your side of it.

Stage one: identity

Government issued photo identification, matched against the name on your credentials. If you practise under a different name, tell us at this stage rather than later, and send the document that connects the two.

Stage two: credentials

Send the training that qualifies you for the work you want to list. Certificates, transcripts, or membership evidence. Every claim you want visible on your public profile needs a document behind it. If you list a modality, we expect training in that modality, not an interest in it.

Stage three: licence, if you hold one

We confirm the licence with the issuing body directly rather than accepting a scan. When it clears, your profile carries the verified tick. On PairLume that tick has one meaning: we confirmed a therapy licence, so you are a clinician working inside a regulated scope with an external complaints route.

If you do not hold a licence, you are still welcome. Your profile is labelled accurately, and you list the coaching or practitioner work you are trained for. What we will not do is let a non licensed listing look licensed.

Stage four: how you describe your work

We read your profile copy. Two things get sent back for editing more than anything else: guarantees of outcome, and clinical language that your credentials do not support. Concrete descriptions of who you work well with do better with couples than adjectives anyway.

Stage five: onboarding

Payout details, calendar setup, session lengths and rates. Once that is in place your card can show real availability, which is the single biggest driver of bookings.

Why applications stall

A licence number that does not match the register, usually a typo or an expired renewal. Credentials in a language we need translated, which is fine but adds days. Profile copy making claims the file does not support. Payout details in a name that does not match the verified identity.

Ongoing obligations

Keep the licence current and tell us when it renews or lapses. Work inside your scope and refer out when someone needs care you cannot provide. Keep the calendar accurate. A lapsed licence presented as current is the fastest route to removal.
