PairLume Payouts and Dispute Handling for Professionals
How session earnings move from a completed booking to your account, what puts a payment on hold, and exactly how our team decides a disputed session.
Money is the part professionals ask about first and the part most platforms explain worst. Here is the whole path.
From booking to balance
A client funds a booking from their [wallet](/how it works/wallet) at the time they book. That money is held, not paid to you yet. When the session completes, the amount moves into your earnings with a line showing the gross figure, the platform share and the net due to you. Nothing is deducted later without a line to explain it.
Payout schedule
Payouts run on a schedule to the account you verified during onboarding. Earnings from completed, undisputed sessions are included. A payout that fails almost always comes down to a name mismatch between your verified identity and your bank details.
What puts money on hold
An open dispute on that booking. A no show recorded on either side while the attendance record is checked. A verification item that has lapsed, most often a licence renewal.
Holds sit on the specific booking. Other sessions in the same period pay out normally.
How a dispute is decided
Clients can dispute a booking. You are asked for your account of it, then our team reviews four things together: the attendance data from the video room, the message thread, the client's account and yours. The outcome is a full refund, a partial refund, or no refund, and you are told which and why.
You cannot resolve a dispute yourself. That protects you as much as the client, because it means nobody can pressure you privately for a refund and then leave a review about it.
What tends to decide it
Attendance records showing who joined and for how long. Whether a cancellation was inside or outside the notice window. Whether contact was kept on platform, which is the only record we can read.
That last one matters. Conversations moved to personal messaging cannot be used as evidence for you.
Reducing disputes
Confirm the time zone in writing before the first session, restate your cancellation terms in the thread, join a few minutes early so the record shows it, and send a short summary afterwards. Most disputes are about expectations rather than the work itself.
Tax and status
You are an independent professional, not an employee. What you earn here is your income to declare, and the earnings breakdown in your portal is there so your accountant does not have to reconstruct it.
