PairLume Pricing Explained: Free Sessions, Bookings, Upgrades

A clear breakdown of what is free on PairLume, what professionals charge, what courses and books cost, and what the paid upgrade adds.

No trial countdown, no card required to look around. Here is where money actually enters the picture.

Free

Creating an account. Guided sessions, solo and couple, within fair use limits on length and frequency. Session recaps. The community, including rooms, posts and comments. Free titles in the book library and free course previews.

Paid, one time

Sessions with a wellness professional. The professional sets the rate and the length. You see the exact price before you confirm. Courses. Bought once, yours to work through at your pace, with progress saved. Books. Bought once, available in your library afterwards. Gifted sessions. You pay, somebody else redeems.

Paid, optional upgrade

The upgrade is for people who use guided sessions heavily. It lifts the limits on session length and frequency and adds the extras built for regular use. If you run one session a fortnight, you will not need it.

What changes the price of a booking

Rates on the marketplace vary with experience, licensure, specialism and region. A licensed clinician with fifteen years in the room prices differently to a newly certified coach, and both can be the right choice depending on what you need. Comparing with the alternatives

In person couples counselling in most large cities runs well above a typical online booking, before travel and childcare. Subscription therapy platforms charge monthly whether or not you use them that week. PairLume's default is free guided sessions with paid help when you want a human, which suits couples whose need is uneven across the year.

The honest downside: pay as you go means the cost of intensive months is visible in a way a flat subscription hides. If you know you want weekly human sessions indefinitely, price both models before committing.

Payments and platforms

On iOS, digital purchases go through Apple's in app purchase system. On the web and on Android, payment is handled by our payment provider. Either way, card details never touch our servers.

Cancelling

There is no lock in on the upgrade. Cancel and it runs to the end of the period you already paid for. Refund rules for bookings are in [refunds and disputes](/how it works/refunds).
