Gift a Relationship Session on PairLume: How It Works
How to pay for a session for a friend, a family member or your partner, how they redeem it, what happens if they do not use it, and how refunds work on gifts.
You can pay for someone else's session without booking it for them, which matters because the choice of professional and time should be theirs.
How it works
1. Choose an amount or a specific session length from the gift option on the [experts](/wellness professionals) page. 2. Pay from your wallet or your card. 3. You get a redemption code and a link to pass on however you like. 4. They redeem it into their own account, then book whoever fits them.
Why we do it this way
Booking a specific stranger into someone else's calendar is a nice thought and a bad experience. Handing them credit lets them read profiles, pick a language they are comfortable in, choose licensed or coaching support, and pick a time that suits their week.
What the recipient sees
The credit lands in their wallet and can be spent on a booking. They do not see your payment details. If you would rather stay anonymous, do not include a message when you send the code.
If it is never redeemed
Codes do not quietly disappear. An unredeemed gift can be refunded to the person who paid for it, on request. Once redeemed, the credit belongs to the recipient and follows the normal [wallet rules](/how it works/wallet).
Refunds
If the recipient books and the session does not happen, the refund goes to their wallet, because they are the client at that point. If the gift was never used, contact us and we will return it to you.
Sensible uses
A friend going through a separation who will not spend money on themselves. A couple you know who keep saying they should talk to someone. Your own partner, when the barrier is cost rather than willingness.
Less sensible uses
Sending an unsolicited gift as a hint. If someone has not said they want help, a code arriving in their inbox reads as a verdict rather than a kindness. Ask first.
