What PairLume is for payment purposes, what documentation exists, and where to go if you need to claim.
This is the least exciting article in the series and one of the more important ones, because getting it wrong wastes money.
## What PairLume is, for payment purposes
A wellness and education platform. Sessions with professionals are paid privately, at the price shown before you confirm. There is no insurance billing, no claim submission, and no arrangement with any insurer.
We are not going to imply otherwise in order to look more like a clinic.
## Why that matters
If your priority is using health cover, the right move is to find a provider inside your insurer network, or a licensed clinician in your jurisdiction who bills your plan or issues the specific documentation your insurer requires. Coming to us first and hoping to claim afterwards usually ends in a refused claim.
## What documentation you do get
A clear record of what you paid, for what, and when, in your bookings and payment history. Session notes if the professional releases them to you. Message threads tied to each booking.
That is a useful personal record. It is not a superbill, it is not a clinical record produced under a regulator record keeping standard, and it should not be presented as either.
## Employer schemes and wellness budgets
Some employers reimburse wellness and coaching spending, and some do not. If yours does, your payment record is usually enough. Check before you assume, and ask specifically whether coaching qualifies, because many schemes distinguish it from clinical care.
## The wallet, and why it exists
Credit sits in your wallet from gifts, promotions and refunds, and is applied at checkout as a visible line rather than a silent adjustment. It exists to make per session purchasing workable without a subscription, and to make refunds usable when returning money to an original payment route is not possible.
Nothing about it is a savings product, it does not earn anything, and it is spendable on the platform.
## Why there is no monthly plan for the marketplace
A subscription charges you for months you do not use, and in this field a large share of months go unused after the initial burst. Per session pricing means a quiet month costs nothing, and it also means we do not benefit from you forgetting to cancel.
That is a deliberate trade. If you would genuinely use something every week, a subscription service elsewhere may be cheaper for you, and we would rather say so than argue otherwise.
