How to Read a Room Before Posting on PairLume

Every room has a personality. Ten minutes of reading saves you an hour of regret.

Rooms in Community all look the same from the outside, but the tone inside can be very different. One room might trade blunt advice all day. Another might be quiet and gentle and ask more questions than it answers. Same app, different neighborhoods.

Before you post somewhere new, scroll the last day of posts. Look at what gets upvoted, how long the comments tend to be, and whether the top replies feel warm or brisk. That tells you more about the room than the rules do.

Read the pinned posts too. Most rooms pin one or two threads at the top that explain the culture, the format for common questions, and the topics that get removed. It takes two minutes and it saves you from an accidental faux pas.

If the room feels off after all that, trust it. There is almost always another room where your post will land better, and the search bar at the top will help you find it.
