PairLume Community Karma Milestones and Perks

Karma is not just a number. It quietly changes what you can do in Community as it grows.

Karma is the small number next to your username. It goes up when people upvote your posts and comments, and down when they downvote them. On its own it means very little. What matters is what it lets you do.

Brand new accounts can post and comment, but not as often. That is on purpose. It keeps the front page from being overrun by throwaway accounts and gives moderators a chance to catch bad actors before they get loud.

Once your karma clears a small threshold, the rate limits relax. A little further on, you can start your own room. Further still, you can be added as an approved poster in stricter rooms that would otherwise require moderator review for every post.

Karma does not buy you the right to be rude. High karma accounts get reported and removed just like anyone else. It just means the app trusts you a little more with the quieter tools.
