How to Join Private Rooms in PairLume Community
Private rooms are quieter and slower. Here is how requests work, and why some rooms ask a question before you get in.
Some rooms are open to anyone. Others ask you to request to join, and a few ask you to answer a short question before the admin approves you. All of that is set up by the people who run the room, and none of it is about keeping you out.
The entry question is usually there because the room deals with a sensitive topic. Rooms for people leaving controlling relationships tend to ask something small, just enough to catch obvious bad actors before they arrive. A one line answer is fine.
Once you are in, the room behaves like any other room, with one difference. Non members cannot see the posts. They can see that the room exists, but the content is only visible to people inside. That changes the tone.

If you get in and the room is not what you expected, you can leave at any time. Leaving is quiet and the room does not announce it. You keep any posts you wrote, but new posts will not be visible to you until you rejoin.
