How PairLume Community Moderation Works

A look at the two layers of moderation that keep the Rooms usable without turning them into a ghost town.

When you tap post, your text goes through an AI moderator before it appears. It looks for personal information, targeted harassment, and content that clearly breaks a specific Room rule. Most posts pass in under a second. A small share are held for a human moderator to review.

Human moderators are a mix of PairLume staff and vetted volunteers who have been active members for at least a few months. They can approve, remove, or ask you to edit. Every action they take is logged.

We do not read every post. We do not train models on your posts. We do not sell your content. The AI moderator runs on a scoped instance that only sees the post it is checking and forgets it once the check is done.

If your post is removed and you think it was wrong, tap appeal. A different moderator will look at it. If they agree with you, the post is restored and any karma you lost is refunded.
