Cancellations, Reschedules and No Shows

Why notice windows exist, what happens to the money, and how to reschedule without losing your slot to someone else.

Scheduling rules feel petty until you are on the other side of one. Here is what they are for and how they work.

## Why a notice window exists

A professional who holds an hour for you cannot sell that hour to anyone else. Cancel with two days notice and the slot goes back on the market, where it will usually be taken. Cancel twenty minutes before and that hour is simply gone.

The window is the line between an inconvenience and a loss, and it is set by the professional rather than by us, because their practices differ.

## What you see before you confirm

The price, the length, and the cancellation policy for that professional. Nothing about it should be a surprise afterwards, and if it is, that is a support issue and worth raising.

## Cancelling inside the window

Cancel with the required notice and the booking is cancelled and refunded according to the policy on that booking. The slot returns to the professional real time availability immediately, which is how someone else can pick it up minutes later.

## Cancelling late

Late cancellations are usually charged, in whole or in part. That is standard across the field, not a platform quirk. If something genuinely serious happened, say so through the booking. Professionals have discretion and most use it sensibly for a first occurrence.

## Rescheduling instead

Usually better than cancelling for both sides. Reschedule from the booking, pick another open slot, and the arrangement moves rather than ending. The same notice window generally applies, so a reschedule twenty minutes before is a late cancellation with a new booking attached.

## If the professional does not appear

Wait inside the session for a reasonable period, message through the booking thread so there is a record, and then raise it on the booking. A professional no show is one of the clearest dispute categories and normally ends in a full refund.

Patterns of this are tracked, not just resolved case by case.

## Why the video does not open hours early

Access to the room opens shortly before the start time and closes after the session ends. This keeps the boundary of the session clean, stops rooms sitting open all day, and makes attendance records meaningful when a dispute needs deciding. Once a session is marked complete, the room does not reopen.

## Practical habits that avoid all of this

Book a time you can hold in a normal week, not your best week. Put it in the calendar you actually look at. Turn on reminders. If you know by Monday that Thursday will not work, move it on Monday, when the slot still has value to somebody else.
