How Blocking Works in PairLume Community

Blocks are private, immediate, and free. Here is what happens on both sides when you use one.

Blocking is one tap, and it is not announced. The other person does not get a notification. They will notice eventually, because your posts and comments stop appearing for them and yours stop appearing for you, but nothing pops up on their screen to say so.

Once someone is blocked, they cannot DM you, reply to your posts, or vote on your comments. If they try to open your profile, they get a soft message that says the profile is unavailable. They are free to assume anything they want about why.

Blocks are per account, not per device. If someone makes a new account to get around you, that new account can reach you until you block it too. That is why the app quietly rate limits fresh accounts.

If you change your mind, the block list lives in your settings and you can lift a block with the same one tap. Nothing is announced when you do that either.
