Anonymous Posting Privacy Guide

A practical checklist for keeping your story yours when you post about your relationship.

Anonymity is a habit, not a setting. Your handle can be anonymous and your story can still give you away. Here is what actually protects you.

Do not use the same handle you use on other apps. Pick something new. If your friends can search a username and find you, so can your partner.

Strip identifying details before you post. Change the city, the job title, and the specific ages. Say early thirties instead of thirty two. Say a health scare instead of the exact diagnosis. The core of your question rarely needs those details.

Do not post photographs, even edited ones. Metadata, tattoos, home interiors, and reflections in mirrors have all outed people who thought they had scrubbed the image.

Turn off location sharing in your Community profile. It is off by default, but check.

If you are in a relationship where being caught could put you in danger, use a device that is not linked to your shared Apple ID or Google account, and log out when you are done.
